Simple and Affordable Patriotic Décor
Hey y’all! It’s summertime and I’ve been putting together some simple and affordable patriotic décor in both the interior and exterior of my home!
I don’t know about you, but summer happens to be my favorite time of the year. There are so many things I love about summer including: extra family time, warm weather, lake activities, vacations, gardening, outdoor cooking, catching up on reading…the list could go on and on. Another thing I love about summer is celebrating the 4th of July. Growing up, my brother and I always looked forward to this holiday. We would save our money for weeks, walk to the local fireworks stand, and carefully hand-pick a variety of fireworks to take home. Our collection of fireworks provided hours of entertainment. This tradition continued once I had kids of my own. I have such fond memories of my three sons having a “blast” (see what I did there) celebrating Independence Day.
If you enjoy this holiday as much as I do, and want to add simple and affordable patriotic décor to your home, I hope you will find some inspiration as you take a peek at the spaces I have decorated. I am loving how the addition of simple patriotic touches has made a subtle, yet fun and festive difference to my home.
Tips for the Interior
As with any space I decorate, I always shop my home first. For this holiday, I searched for red, white, and blue items to incorporate into each room. In addition, I purchased a few items from Target and Dollar Tree including some jars with metal handles for votive candles, a few inexpensive flags, a patriotic banner, a couple of inexpensive porch buntings, etc. These simple and affordable patriotic décor items cost me about $20.00. I’d love to hear what you think as you tour the interior of my home so be sure to leave me a comment below!

Tips for the Exterior
As with the interior, I pulled together red, white, and blue items I already had to compliment the simple and affordable patriotic décor items I purchased. Rather than go over-the-top, I discovered the addition of a few simple items freshened up my outdoor space without making it feel cluttered. What do you think? For more DETAILS regarding the outdoor tablescape, check out the videos saved to my Instagram highlights under “Table Décor”. You can watch them here. Also, the centerpiece on the back patio was put together with clearance flowers from Walmart and a $0.25 thrift store basket. I saved the details to that DIY as well and you can watch them here.

That wraps up my simple and patriotic home décor tour. I hope you are inspired to add a few patriotic touches to your own home!
